How to Improve the Grinding Efficiency of Ball Mill?

Improving the grinding efficiency has important significance for the improvement of mineral processing index. How to improve the grinding efficiency of ball mill? We can consider this question from the following aspects:

1. Adopt the closed circuit grinding process. The reasonable grinding process is to discharge materials as soon as they are qualified, which can avoid over grinding on the one hand; on the other hand, it can also make the grinding medium (steel ball) play its roll in grinding effect fully. Then separate the qualified sand with classifier, among which the coarse sand will return to grinder equipment and get regrinding. So we can see in the closed circuit grinding process, the coarse sand can return to the grinding equipment with the new materials, so its grinding time is shorter. Besides, the existing of reasonable amount of sand return can eliminate the fluctuation of the new feeding materials of grinding machine to the particle size of products. So the closed circuit grinding process can avoid the over grinding and insufficient grinding of materials. It can get even and uniform products on the basis of quality, which is good for the next beneficiation.

2. As is proved by the production processes of different mills, the rod mill which discharges materials to the different direction can reduce the over grinding phenomenon, especially effective for the brittle materials. This mill has a rapid speed of discharging, so the large-density ores which lie in the deep pulp are easy to be discharged. The rod mill adopts paralleled rods to be grinding medium which can reduce the over crushing phenomenon. In addition, the rod mill has a shallow pulp layer which has a weak buffer action to grinding medium. So the grinding medium can play its role fully and the mill has a large production capability.

In the choice of screening machine, we can choose classifier which has a high separating efficiency (about 80%~90%).
